Popular culture is the music, movies, television, books, etc. that is widely available for us to enjoy. To me, it means the creation of art without any focus on if it is considered good or enjoyable; the focus instead is on whether it is profitable.
Popular culture is relevant in a business environment, because it is a way to communicate with your peers.
My example of a pop culture artifact is the magazine Us Weekly, because it is available at most anywhere. Inside, it tells the gossip of all the stars that are a focus of popular culture and their latest mishaps or successes.

Hi JJ, I like your take on popular culture and what it means to you. Also, very good example of a artifact, Us Weekly, I dont read it much, but I do get tempted in line at the grocery store.

JJ I think you hit the nail right on the head with your explanation of Popular Culture. I think you really get what it is all about. Just like Matt said, US Weekly is indeed a great publication demonstrating Pop Culture. Although it is not something i read my girlfriend does and she seems to know EVERYTHING that goes on in the celeb world. Great blog.
Yeah I think your right. A lot of popular culture also has to do with the money. If it does not make fistfuls of cash no longer is it a center piece of daily life. Honestly good job, I overlooked the money factor and was like doh!
